Emmanuelle Fonsny

Emmanuelle Fonsny is a composer, pianist, violinist and teacher from Belgium currently living in Sydney. She started piano at age 5 and soon discovered the joy of making up tunes and writing them down. In 2003, she studied composition with Anne Boyd and Matthew Hindson at the University of Sydney and completed a composition portfolio and a thesis on Japanese contemporary music.

Her music takes inspiration from Bach, 20th century French and Russian composers as well as jazz, folk and Japanese anime. She has composed for piano, strings and woodwinds.
